NATURE’S MEDICINE – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. If you don’t see it on this list, write to us at [email protected] and we will help you out. The answers given reflect the regulations at the time of this posting, but things change all the time. Check back with your county for specific rules.
GENERAL INFORMATION
I’ve never shopped for marijuana before. What should I expect?
First, welcome! It might seem a little intimidating if you’ve never been in a dispensary, but it’s really very simple and our teams are here to help. When you walk in, the first thing they will ask for is an ID (see FAQ on acceptable IDs below). They will take your ID and assign you a budtender. This person will help you from start to finish. They will likely ask what types of products you are interested in or what type of results you are hoping to achieve and discuss options. Once they cash you out, they will return your ID and you’ll be on your way. It’s a friendly, casual experience—whether you are brand new to cannabis or an expert.
Can I shop here?
If you’re 21 or older, we’d love to see you at any of our locations!
What do I need to be able to shop?
In Colorado, recreational shoppers will need to show a valid driver’s license or valid government-issued photo ID showing that you are at least 21 years of age. Cash is still the best method for payment.
What are my payment options?
In 2023, legislators passed a bill making it legal for dispensaries to accept credit cards, but it will take some time before we are allowed to do this. Our locations also accept debit payment, but some banking institutions do not allow that. Because it varies, for now, the best way to pay for your purchase is to bring cash.
Do you sell clones?
Yes! Our South Denver location and our Salida location both sell clones. Check out our South Denver Clone Cam to see the plants before you buy, or check them out and reserve your clones online.
How many clones can I have?
Colorado residents may grow marijuana in their homes for personal use. State law states up to six plants are allowed per Colorado resident over age 21, with as many as three plants flowering at one time. However, counties and municipalities can—and do—have their own restrictions. In the Denver city limits, for example, a home grow is limited to 12 plants, no matter how many legal adults reside in the home. You can find info on your county here, and for ease, our stores are in these counties:
- Nature’s Medicine South Denver – Denver County
- Nature’s Medicine Salida – Chaffee County
Medical patients have different regulations, so check here for more information.
Can I plant clones in my garden?
In Colorado, cannabis plants must be kept in an enclosed, locked area that can’t be openly viewed. This limits most non-greenhouse gardens, but it’s best to check with the regulations for specific guidelines before planting.
Do you offer any deals for recreational users?
Yes, all of our Nature’s Medicine locations offer loyalty points for all recreational customers. For every $1 you spend you will receive 1 point. When you reach 100 points, you will receive a $5 credit towards anything in the store.
We also offer discounts for Seniors and Veterans, and we are constantly running additional promotions by store, by product, or by brand. Please sign up for our newsletter to stay in the loop or just stop by and ask your Budtender.
How do I sign up for your loyalty program?
Stop by any of our locations. Our Budtenders will be happy to set you up.
Do my rewards expire?
No. You earned them. You get to use them whenever you like.
When can I redeem my points/rewards?
You cannot use rewards earned on the same visit, but you can redeem them on any visit after that. Just tell your Budtender.
If I’m a loyalty member, will I receive texts or emails?
We will reach out to you via text or email once you sign up, but if you decide you no longer wish to hear from us, you can simply opt out. If you decide you miss us, we can add you back in.
Do you have any daily specials?
Yes, we have a ton of deals as well as daily specials. Check back on our website often, sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of our site to hear about savings and promotions, call our stores or just stop by and say, “High”!
How much cannabis can I buy in Colorado?
This depends on if you are a medical customer or a recreational customer.
- Recreational Customers – Adults 21 years or older may purchase up to 1oz (28gm) in a single transaction. You can buy any combination of products, including: flower, concentrates, topicals and/or edibles. Because some products (like concentrates) have a higher level of THC than flower, you won’t be able to purchase the same amount in weight in all forms. The ‘Marijuana Equivalency’ rules equate 1oz of flower = 8g of concentrate (wax, shatter, etc.) or 800mg of active THC in an infused edible (including beverages). If it seems like a lot of math, don’t worry; our Budtenders will make sure you stay within your legal limits.
- Medical Patients – Adults 18+ can purchase up to 2oz of flower, 8gm of concentrate, or 20,000mg active THC in infused products.
Are purchase limits the same as possession limits?
No, purchase limits apply to how much you may purchase during a single day. In Colorado, you are allowed to legally possess 2oz (or 56gm) of marijuana.
What do I do if I have a defective product?
We stand behind our products. If you have an issue with something you purchased from us, please speak to the manager at the store or reach out to us at [email protected] so we can help you out.
Where can I smoke in Colorado?
It is not yet legal to smoke cannabis in public in Colorado. The law restricts cannabis use to private areas like a home, a legal consumption lounge or a 420-friendly rental or hotel.
Can I take cannabis with me when I travel?
Within Colorado and within the legal possession limits, travel is fine as long as you are not publicly consuming the product. Because marijuana is still Federally illegal, we do not advise travel outside the state. Do not take product with you to the airport.
Where can I get information on the legality of medical or recreational marijuana?
There is still much ambiguity surrounding the legality of medical and recreational marijuana in Colorado and the U.S. Please refer to the links below for a variety of legal information and send us an email if you learn of anything we should share with our customers; things are always in legislative flux!
